COSS Annual Food Collection at Tynecastle Park

The Community One Stop Shop team will be hosting their annual food collection at Tynecastle Park this weekend. Fans are invited to donate items for the foodbank before the Hearts vs St Mirren game on Saturday 19th October.

Collection points will be set up at the Foundation Plaza and Wheatfield Street turnstiles from around midday until kick off at 3pm where they will be ready to receive donations of tinned and non-perishable groceries.

Fans will also be able to donate cash on the day, or make an online payment. Or for those not wanting to interupt their pre-game festivities, they are invited to donate in advance.

The COSS foodbank is the only non-referral foodbank in the city which means that anyone who is living in poverty is able to come along to the office in Broomhouse to get a food parcel.

It is stocked entirely by donations from businesses, organisations and individuals. Without this support, we could not continue to offer this service to the most vulnerable people in the city.

The items which are particularly useful are:

Tinned food – meat, meals, pies, vegetables, fruit, puddings

Cooking sauces eg pasta sauce, curry, stir fry

Cereals

Tea & coffee

Biscuits

Toiletries

We are extremely grateful to Big Hearts Community Trust for facilitating our collection again this year. Hearts fans have been very generous to COSS for many years now, and we are looking forward to seeing some familiar faces again on 19th October. Thanks also to St Mirren Charitable Trust and the fans for lending their support on the day.
