FAQ’s

Here you will find many of the answers to common questions:

What time of day will I be able to speak to someone?

Our advice workers offer appointments most mornings, Monday to Friday, and on some evenings depending on the availability of our volunteers.

Are there any issues you cannot help me with?

We are not able to offer advice on subjects such as immigration, employment, finance or debt. We can refer you to organisations who will be able to help you. If you’re not sure whether we cover the topic you need help with, you can speak to our reception team who will let you know.

Do I need to register with you?

You will be given a registration form to fill in when you make an appointment. We will ask what topic you would like to discuss but do not need to know the details of your situation.

How long will my appointment last?

Initial sessions are normally around an hour long. Follow up sessions can be arranged if required.

Will I be able to see someone straight away?

You will need to make an appointment to see our advice worker. There is a high demand for our services, and you might have to wait up to 3 weeks to be able to speak to someone. We do not currently have the resources to be able to offer a drop-in service.
